Lauren Fenner Named a Luminary Award Shining Star Nominee Finalist by the West Shore Chamber of Commerce

Lauren E. Fenner, CPA, Principal at premier advisory firm, Brown Plus, has been named a Luminary Award Shining Star Nominee Finalist by the West Shore Chamber of Commerce. Lauren will be honored as an award finalist, and the Shining Star Award recipient will be announced, at the 2023 Luminary Awards Luncheon on September 7, 2023, at the Penn Harris Hotel in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

The West Shore Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Luminary Awards recognize highly respected businesswomen for their outstanding character, commitment, professional achievement, stellar performance and attitude. The Shining Star Luminary Award specifically recognizes a businesswoman who holds a non-executive position, volunteers within the community, seeks to continually improve herself both professionally and personally and is a strong team player.

“I feel so honored to be distinguished as a Shining Star Nominee Finalist as part of the West Shore Chamber’s 2023 Luminary Awards,” said Lauren. “It is humbling to be recognized for my character, commitment, achievements, performance and attitude, because I perceive all of those things simply as necessary components of my role as an advisor – helping my clients and team members achieve extraordinary outcomes, both within the Firm and within the community.” Lauren is a Senior Manager and a key member of the Brown Plus Nonprofit Practice, providing audit and tax services for approximately 45 nonprofit organizations, governmental entities and school districts. Lauren serves as a dedicated member of the Brown Plus Accounting and Auditing (A&A) Committee, which reviews strategies and best practices for the Firm’s A&A clients and processes. She also serves as a subject matter expert and presenter for Brown Plus’ nonprofit-related educational seminars. Additionally, Lauren is a dedicated volunteer member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (PICPA) South Central Local Connection Committee. Lauren’s focus on serving nonprofits is not just professional, but also personal. Lauren volunteers as Board Treasurer of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce and is a former member of Harrisburg Young Professionals (HYP). For her outstanding character, professional accomplishments and dedication to making a positive impact for others, Lauren was recognized by Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts’ Women in Science, Technology, Education and Math (STEM) Awards as a Woman to Watch honoree in 2020.“We are extremely proud of Lauren for this incredible recognition as a Shining Star Nominee Finalist,” said Ken Wolfe, President and Managing Principal at Brown Plus. “Lauren has always been a passionate, dedicated and knowledgeable advisor to her clients and community partners, especially those in the not-for-profit industry. We certainly believe that Lauren is a shining star, and we look forward to honoring her and the other Luminary Awards finalists at the ceremony in September.”
